Bridgend Leos have recently been formed as a junior branch of the Lions Club of Bridgend Leos are young Lions aged 12-21. Bridgend Lions help by paying for things the club needs to get started and we actively support the club in every way necessary. However, it is a club run by its own members and funds raised by the club are administered by the members themselves. This is a key difference to most clubs, where they are generally run by adults for young people. So if the Leos decide they want to raise money for a good cause, then the money made from that event would go to that cause. Or the club could raise money and then discuss and decide how best to use that money. If they help us with an event we would give the Leos a donation. We would help with ideas for events and offer help where it was asked for. There is a Leo Advisor appointed by the Lions club to help the Leos. To view the Leos own web site click here See below for the Leos Club's recent activities What do young people get out of being a Leo?
And not to forget….. Social activities, within the club and with other Leo clubs, meeting other people and having some fun!! What does a Leos club do? Basically whatever the members want to do. Examples of what other Young Lions clubs get involved with include: The ideas are as large and as varied as the imaginations and abilities of the members of the club !!! See below for recent activities. If you are aged 12-21 and would like to become involved with the Bridgend Leos please use our contact page to get in touch. Three of the Leos Club members came to assist us at the Bob Cook Games for the disabled in Swindon. Below they pose with the Penybont Gateway and Every Link Counts teams at the Bob Cook games
The Leos worked hard, but still found time to relax
And even received medals from the Lions District Governor Larry Pearce (together with a member of Porthcawl Leos Club).
