We attended numerous fetes and fundays throughout the Bridgend area from June to September with our fun stalls.
If you are holding an event in 2017 and would like us to attend please contact us.
Charity Swim Gala
Our latest annual Charity Swim was held on Sunday 24th April 2016.
Teams of local charities were able to raise funds for themselves at a cost of £60 entrance fee.
We were able to put on this event which enables other groups to raise funds for themselves as a result of many very generous sponsors (details on our Swim page) - we thank them for their support.
Our annual Book Fair was held from 1st April to 3rd April 2016 at our new venue - Westward Community Centre, Cefn Glas, Bridgend. Click on the link for directions.
There were thousands of good quality books including fiction, non-fiction and children's, all at unbelievable prices.
Easter Egg Raffle
Our annual Easter Egg raffle took place at various venues throughout the Bridgend area leading up to Easter.
Customers were able to purchase numbered squares for £1 for a chance to win a large Thornton's Easter Egg.
Thank you to all the venues that supported this event in 2016.
We helped Santa in his Grotto at Carnegie House (the old library) Wyndham Street, Bridgend on each of the four Saturdays prior to Christmas starting on the 28th November.
A visit to see Santa cost £5.00 for which children received a quality gift and family were able to take their own photographs.
The grotto also included free crafts and colouring for children while they waited and craft stalls and tombolas were also available.
Tree of Light
During December we once again held a Tree of Light outside St Mary's Church where people could sponsor a light for £5 in memory of a loved one or a special cause at Christmas.
There was a short dedication of the tree in the foyer of St Mary's Church on Monday the 6th December including carols sung by St Mary's school choir.
Citizenship Award for Club
We have been presented with the prestigious Mayor’s Citizenship Award by the Mayor of Bridgend County Borough, Councillor Clive James.
Pictured with the Borough Mayor are our President Tony Rees with members Henry Trimlett and John Craxton who represented the Club at the Awards ceremony.
This was given in recognition of all the hard work the club has done since its formation, 19 years of what has become one of the largest Charity Book Sales in Wales and the continuing support given to the community
Web site Award
This web site won the 2010 Lions District 105W Club Web Site of the Year Award which was presented to the Club at the Lions District 105W Convention on 12 March 2011.
